Lauth-Class Patrol Ship
12.82 WesDagh (1282m)
Antimatter Water Thrusters
The Lauth class was designed to be a new approach at increasing firepower while also featuring a more compact primary hull. The destruction of the Goslauth in the Battle of Goslauth, showed the need for even more powerful and better armored ships. The Kau-class was build to address this issue. Due to the sudden war, the Lauth class construction was superseded by the Kau class without the Lauth class having served for any length of time. As the production of the newer Kau-class was gearing up, many Lauth-class ships in production were completed to replaced lost ships.
Technology & Combat CharacteristicsEdit
The Lauth-class represents a new compact design that increases combat efficiency to a new level never seen before. While being newer, the Lauth class featured the classic extended arm design for its 6 EM cannons but its engine was more compact and protected while the hull itself was more heavily armored than previous patrol ship designs. The Lauth class also featured more anti-proton cannons than previous designs and more mobile laser defense turrets. As such it was an incredible leap forward in offensive power. However, with the start of war, even more advancements were needed.
