Kau-Class Patrol Ships are the main combat ships of the Humankind Empire Abh, and are employed in large numbers by the Abh Navy.

Technology & Combat Characteristics

The Kau class are modern ships, better armed and armored compared to it's predecessors the Byrsh and Lauth class patrol ships and the smaller Roil-class assualt ships.  The design of the ships is more compact with the electromagnetic cannons built into the hull instead of placed in extended armature structures.  With this design, the Kau class has an additional two EM cannons facing aft. The engine exhaust and venting areas are also more protected while the mine launching facilities can be concealed within the superstructure by a series of movable hull plates.
